Blending In

Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA)

The Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), or, in other terms, the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, is one of my favorite hang outs when I’m visiting Barcelona. The museum offers a wide range on contemporary art and culture and confirms Barcelona’s position as a world art capital as well. Always when I’m there, I feel this creative vibe surrounding me and it feels so good. The architecture is amazing as well. It’s the work of North American artist Richard Meier, designed in my birthyear, 1990, and built between 1991 and 1995. The assemblage of several prisms takes up 14.300 m2 of floor space in total. The center is a cylindrical volume that cuts through all the floors – from the basement to the roof – and organises the exhibition areas along a longitudinal axis over three floors, starting with the ground floor. I just love it how the natural light enters the building. It makes it a serene place to be, just what you need when you’re soaking your mind up with modern art. …

Wearing ÃARK Collective 002 Collection

For those who have been following me for a while, know I’ve collaborated in the past with Melbourne-based watch label AÃRK Collective for an Instagram takeover of 7 days. For those who haven’t, you can take a look at this awesome project here and here. AÃRK now presents their newest collection, 002, which develops the brand’s signature minimalist aesthetic and playful approach to detail. While 001 explored an interaction between color and geometric shapes, 002 draws inspiration from the ideas of time and space. The watches are even named after the physical phenomenon or principle that inspired it: Shell, Eon, Tide & Eclipse. Once I saw their newest collection, I immediately knew I wanted to wear the Shell white watch. A piece which is defined by its playful charm, and pays, in my opinion, a tribute to the classic watch design. The unique patterning case ensures you there’s no two Shells that are the same.
